Solar Energy in Nature

The collection of solar energy is produced in the atmosphere, oceans and plants on Earth. The interactions of the sun’s energy, oceans and atmosphere, for example, produce winds, used for centuries to move mills. The existing wind power systems using propellers produce electricity for local use or for specialized feeding the power grid of a region or community.

Almost 30% of the solar energy that reaches the outer edge of the atmosphere is consumed in the water cycle, producing rain and the potential energy of the flows of rivers and mountains. This system will take advantage of hydropower to produce large amounts of electricity. Put a dam in a river, lake, etc., water is stored in the dam and then let go fast. The water moves turbines and produces electricity.

Also in tidal energy the sun is necessary, because thanks to the gravitational pull of the Sun and the Moon tides occur, which is the beginning of this energy.

Through photosynthesis, solar energy contributes to the growth of plant life (biomass), which, together with wood and fossil fuels (derived from ancient plants) may be used as fuel. Other fuels such as alcohol and methane gas can also be extracted from biomass. With this we can say that the Sun is not just to collect solar energy, but is the foundation of almost all energy.
